Ordering Tips - Help Us Help You!

1-800-CONCRETE'S NETWORK of Ready Mixed Concrete Producers strive to make doing business with us an easy, successful experience. We understand the success of your pour relies on our ability to communicate with you throughout the delivery of your concrete.

Much work goes into preparing for your job well before you order the concrete.

Getting the project specifications in order
Submissions/approvals of mix designs
Site preparation
Scheduling workers

After all that work, getting the wrong mix at the wrong time can be frustrating and expensive, not to mention having disastrous results.

Below is 1-800-CONCRETE's Checklist to help you help us deliver the right order each and every time you pour.

Before you call:
Have you confirmed the days yardage amount?
Have any specific mix designs been submitted for your project?
Has pump/conveyor been scheduled and confirmed?

Placing your order:
First and foremost, give plenty of notice, at least one day.  This enables our dispatchers to accurately schedule trucks resulting in timely deliveries.   Discuss with our customer service representatives the truck access and any specifics pertaining to the jobsite. We have our own criteria on what we feel is accessible for our trucks and will provide our drivers with information that will help them get to your site and ready to pour in the quickest time possible.

Firm orders are given precedence over “will call” orders. Due to the nature of our delivery business, we are unable to “hold” trucks or even schedule trucks based on “will call” orders until they are confirmed. Once we receive confirmation of your order, it is then that we position them into the schedule. All attempts are made to meet your specific needs at that time.

General Information needed:
Company Name or Individual Name
For Companies, Please provide the Project Name
If this job was a quoted project with your company, the quoted project
names should be used at each order.

Complete Address
On The Job Contact Name & Number
COD orders should have a credit card number ready –

IMPORTANT SPECIFICS WE MUST HAVE:
The time you want the concrete and is it a firm or will call order.
 The  specific directions to jobsite.
The mix you are ordering, If not sure dispatch can assist with this.
Any special slump, air entrainment requirement.
Any special admixtures you require.  i.e. Fiber, color, pervious. etc.

Give the total number of yards needed.
Give the load size you are needing per truck
Loads under 6 yards usually have additional fee’s
Let them know the spacing you want on the trucks.
For example, "I need the trucks 30 minutes apart."

Other Considerations:
Is the jobsite easily accessible to ready mix trucks?
Is the entrance/exit clearly visible and/or marked?
Can the ready mix truck get close enough to pour area?
Trucks can have additional chutes sent if we have this information ahead of time.
Is jobsite safe for the weight/size of ready mix trucks?
Is ground surrounding the pour site too wet, possibly resulting in a truck being
           stuck or sinking?
Is the incline leading to the concrete pour too great for the truck?
Is the opening for where the truck would need to pass to reach where the
          concrete is needed to narrow?
Can the chutes reach where you are needing to pour?

Another important thing to consider is getting the appropriate information from dispatch including

Confirmation of quantity

Confirmation of scheduled time of  your delivery

Confirmation of truck spacing (if necessary)

Confirmation  of price per yard for your concrete

Confirmation of order status firm or will call

Also you should also get a basic understanding from your dispatcher of additional charges that may apply, Including

Short loads

Saturday delivery

Extended stay at job

Fuel charge

Wash out charge.

If you establish a clear understand of the order process from the begining it will make for a smoother experience for both you and our network of ready mixed concrete producers.

Discuss with our dispatchers the truck access and any specifics pertaining to the jobsite.
